Are You Dehydrated? Here’s How To Tell

Most people do not get enough water per day, and it's easy to see why. With so many sugary juices, sodas, and other tempting drinks widely available, water can start to seem less appetizing. However, the body desperately needs water in order to function and be healthy. And, when you regularly deprive yourself of it, you can end up dehydrated. Dehydration is sneaky, however, and you might not notice it until you've already caused yourself some health problems. For that reason, it's wise to be aware of the common symptoms of dehydration and to start drinking more water the second you notice these symptoms, or, ideally, even before you notice them.

Dry Mouth

Do you regularly feel like you've got a mouth full of cotton? A dry, sticky mouth is often an indicator of dehydration. While soda, juice, or other sugary beverages may temporarily quench your thirst, they'll actually make you more thirsty in the long run, which is why it's smart to reach for water when you've got a case of cotton mouth.

Bad Breath

Bad breath isn't something that anyone wants. However, if you're not getting enough water, this issue could easily affect you. The saliva in your mouth does a lot to control the bacteria that causes bad breath.

If, however, you're not getting enough water, which is a key component of saliva, your body cannot make the saliva it needs to keep up with the bacteria growth. This means that you will often get an overgrowth of bacteria in the mouth and, thus, smelly, bad breath. Downing plenty of water each day, though, can stop this stinky problem in its tracks.

Constant Thirst

Your body is usually pretty smart when it comes to letting you know what it needs.Unfortunately, though, humans aren't always so good at properly responding to those cues. If you are seriously thirsty all the time, your body is trying to tell you that it wants and needs more water.

Don't attempt to satisfy your thirst with other drinks; water is the only thing that can truly quench your thirst.

These are just a few of many signs that your body is crying out for more water. Don't deny it of the liquid it needs to stay healthy and strong. You can make drinking water easier on yourself by hiring a water delivery service company to deliver water directly to your house every week.
